Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Rid ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application Rid: Habits & Goals (the "App"). The App is operated by Sean Hull, a sole proprietor based in California, USA.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plaintext), and optional profile photo and display name.
- Onboarding inputs. During onboarding you may provide information about habits you want to eliminate, habits you want to build, your goals, and your motivations. This content is stored in your account.
- App usage data. We store the habits you track, your daily check-ins, streak counts, milestone badges earned, commitments you set, and progress notes.
- AI Coach interactions. When you use the AI Coach feature, your messages and the AI's responses are stored to provide continuity in coaching sessions. Messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses.
- Subscription information. When you subscribe, Apple processes your payment. We do not see or store your payment card details. We receive a receipt token and subscription status from Apple via RevenueCat.
Information collected automatically
- Device information. We collect device type, operating system version, app version, and time zone for technical functionality.
- Crash and performance data. If the App crashes or encounters errors, we may collect diagnostic information to fix issues.
- Authentication tokens. Supabase, our authentication provider, stores session tokens on your device to keep you signed in.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your real-world location.
- We do not collect your contacts.
- We do not access your camera or photo library except when you explicitly choose to upload a profile photo.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App

3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only with the following service providers, who are bound by confidentiality obligations:
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Your account data is stored on Supabase servers in the United States.
- Anthropic — AI Coach responses are generated using Anthropic's Claude API. Your messages to the AI Coach are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not retain your messages for model training under their commercial API terms.
- Apple / RevenueCat — Subscription management and payment processing. Apple handles all payments; RevenueCat handles subscription state synchronization.
- Cloudflare — Domain hosting and content delivery for our website (ridhabits.app).
We may also disclose information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rid, our users, or others.
